Be Prepared for Construction - Drive Smart; Drive Safe

The reconstruction of the Fourth Avenue Underpass will make some traffic detours necessary and will slow traffic both east and west bound on Broadway Boulevard in the Downtown area.  Portions of Toole Avenue on the east end of Downtown will be restricted.

Access to all area businesses will be maintained during the project and directional signs will be placed to help patrons reach them easily.

Traffic impact alerts will be communicated to the public using local media, website and the information line at

Motorists and bicyclists should pay close attention to construction and detour signage and watch for construction equipment operating in the area.

The Tucson Department of Transportation asks that all motorists and bicyclists traveling in the area, pay close attention to construction and detour signage, watch for construction equipment and proceed with caution, drive safely, and obey the speed limit.

Park at The Pennington Street Garage

Parking is available at the 750 space Pennington Street Garage.  It's ideally located to provide convenient parking near the Historic Depot and Hotel Congress, as well as the retail shops and businesses along Pennington St. & Congress St., Stone & Scott Avenues.  

Access to the garage is located on Scott, just north of Congress Street.
